We’re excited to announce new features and updates for PLAYME Theme on game-related content and homepage functionality. This update brings more customization options, improved layout controls, and enhanced user experience. Here’s what’s new:

1. Custom Anchor Links for Game Post Type

This feature enables the use of custom anchor links within game posts, making navigation easier and allowing users to jump directly to sections of interest. Custom anchor links add a streamlined way to highlight specific content within a game post in case users adds his custom sections with # markers. Recommended use with Child Theme or custom Blocks and proper knowledge.

2. Related Posts in Specific Category

In the Game Post Type, you can now display related posts from a specified category. This targeted approach provides readers with more relevant content, helping them explore similar games or topics and encouraging engagement with your site.

Example scenario: you have the game “Darkstalkers” and several posts in the category “Darkstalkers Guides” (or something) and several others in the category “Darkstalkers News” (or something). Now by simply selecting those categories in the Game Post, you can choose how many to display and whether the criteria is “latest” or “modified”.

3. Select Games for Media (Bidirectional)

With the new “Select Games for Media” feature, you can link related games into the Game post, creating a bidirectional relationship between game posts. This feature is great for connecting similar or “same saga” game in a cohesive, user-friendly way.

You can also use the previously available “Game Collection” taxonomy for similar results.

4. Custom Latest Posts for Home Page

A new setting for custom latest posts has been added to the Home Posts settings, allowing you to display selected recent posts in a personalized format. Highlight the latest content or prioritize certain posts for better control over your homepage’s content.

5. Custom Blocks for Games on Home Page

The “Games Custom Blocks” feature, added to the Home Games settings, allows for further customization of the home page. These blocks give you flexible options for displaying game-related content in various criteria, making it easy to showcase your game posts dynamically.

6. Game CPT Compatibility with Gutenberg

Game Custom Post Type (CPT) are now compatible with the Gutenberg editor, providing a seamless editing experience. Enjoy the power of block-based editing while working with plugins that works with Blocks, streamlining the process of creating visually engaging content.

7. New Home Template 5, Single Games Only Content Template and Single Posts Only Content Template

We’ve introduced a fresh layout with custom php templates, giving you a new, visually appealing design option for your homepage if you are using custom Blocks like Gutenberg or similar plugins.

This templates are based solely on “the_content” function, therefore it is an “Empty Template” ready to be filled with Blocks.

8. Ramsthemes Addons Plugin Updated to v1.0.7 (Mandatory Update)

The Ramsthemes Addons plugin has been updated to version 1.0.7, bringing crucial enhancements to support the new features. Be sure to update to this version to ensure compatibility with the latest additions and improvements.
